From the title, "Kingdom of the Lost: Kronk's Tale," it's clear that Kronk, the bumbling assistant to the evil high priestess Yzma, will have a major role in this sequel. In fact, Kronk was an unexpectedly beloved character in the original film, and his voice actor, Patrick Warburton, was praised for his comedic performance, earning him the title of "Best Comedy Performance" for that year. It's amusing that Kronk, who was originally a supporting character, now gets his own spinoff—truly a case of "the meek shall inherit the earth." The story follows Kronk, who, after helping Kuzco regain his throne and escaping Yzma's tyranny, has settled into a comfortable life in the kingdom. He has become the head chef at a local restaurant, the leader of a Boy Scout troop, and even has a crush on a girl named Birdwell, leading a rather content life. However, his peace is disrupted when he learns that his father, Papi, is coming to visit. Kronk and Papi have a strained relationship, as Kronk has always longed for his father's approval, but Papi has been extremely critical of him. Upon hearing that his father is coming, Kronk is filled with anxiety and decides to do everything he can to win his father's favor. His friends, including Yzma, who offers some less-than-helpful advice, rally around him, leading to a series of humorous and comedic situations. The film is directed by Saul Andrew Blinkoff and Elliot M. Bour, with the original voice cast reprising their roles, including David Spade, John Goodman, Eartha Kitt, and Patrick Warburton. New characters are voiced by actors such as Tracy Ulman and John Mahoney. The music for the film is composed by Jeanine Tesori.
