The stage is the symbolic "Blue World" of reason, but it is being attacked and invaded by life forms from the instinct-driven "Red World," specifically Nightfly O'Note. The protagonist, 17-year-old Akira Maou, is employed as a researcher in the Blue World and is later promoted to the position of frontline combat commander due to her exceptional abilities. She is tasked with overseeing the counter-phase defense mechanism spanning Ishigaki Island and Iriomote Island, commonly known as the "Ryukyu LAG." There, she encounters the students of the sixth combat unit, "IS," which was established four years ago following the devastating defeat of the fifth combat unit. As their instructor, the protagonist leads six riders, also known as "Scared Riders Xechs," in a desperate battle against the attacks and threats from theOther world. Amidst this life of struggle, their friendships deepen.
