The story takes place in the year 1604 of the Continental Calendar, where a three-century-long war has finally come to an end. The entire Filberist continent is in ruins, with widespread destruction and despair. Tolu (voiced by Junji Inamisaki) and Akari (voiced by Yūko Hara) are not blood-related but have become sworn siblings. They have supported each other through the brutal war, forming deep bonds.
