"Zetsuai" is a classic work in the yaoi genre, created by Nankoku Oizaki and serialized as a boy's love manga in Shonen Jump. Superstar Kousuke Nanjo often reminisces about a "girl" he met in the fifth grade of elementary school, who had clear, sharp eyes. One day, while drunk and running a high fever, Kousuke is brought home by a young boy with the same eyes. Upon sobering up, he is surprised to discover that the boy, named Takuto Izumi, is the same "first love" he had mistaken for a girl years ago. Devastated, Kousuke tries to suppress his feelings and hopes they can just be friends, but Takuto keeps him at a distance. Kousuke's aggressive intrusion exposes Takuto's tragic childhood to everyone. To escape, Takuto starts dating girls, but Kousuke, driven by jealousy, rapes Takuto's girlfriend and forces Takuto to confront their feelings. Finally, Kousuke courageously confesses his feelings to Takuto, melting the thick layer of ice in Takuto's heart. However, how will this unendorsed relationship develop? Will there be even more difficult obstacles standing between them?
