The story takes place at the county-run Kitamachida High School, where Ayano Hanae (voiced by Hitomi Ohtani) is a first-year girl who, despite having excellent athletic abilities, deliberately avoids her highly skilled talent in badminton. By chance, Ayano meets the captain of the school's badminton club, Nagisa Aragaki (voiced by Miyuri Shimabukuro), and this encounter becomes the catalyst for her joining the badminton club. Her teammates include the vice-captain, Izumi Riko (voiced by Yuki Minamura), who has sharp and rational thinking; Fujisawa Erenai (voiced by Kimiyo Ohara), who, despite her strong personality, is actually very understanding; and the coach, Tadakuro Tachibana (voiced by Shin'ichiro Ogami), who was once the strongest player but ultimately gave up his professional career. The club advisor, Miyako Taromaru (voiced by Mikako Komatsu), knows nothing about badminton. Surrounding Ayano are these like-minded friends and mentors who share her passion.
