The brother of Queen of Darkness, Rito, joins the forces invading Earth and overwhelmingly defeats the Power Rangers, destroying the Dragonzord and the Tigerzord. The command center is also damaged in the battle, causing the Power Rangers to lose their Super Megaforce powers. Zeus uses the remaining energy from the center to send the Power Rangers, who have lost their powers, to the Ninja Temple, instructing them to meet the Ninja Ranger (Ninjor), who can create Super Megaforce coins. Despite being pursued by Rito's man-eating birds along the way, the Rangers successfully arrive at the temple, gaining new Super Megaforce powers and additional ninja-themed transformation forms, as well as the Ninja Zords. Later, Baboon, Skull, and Fishman discover the long-lost Shogun Zords. The Emperor of Darkness and others seize Xiaoqing's Super Megaforce coin and Daming's Eagle Zord, intending to coerce the Power Rangers into driving the Shogun Zords to conquer Earth. Daming must infiltrate Dark Moon Palace and, at the last moment, retrieves the coin and the Eagle Zord, while Billy also seizes control of the Shogun Zords during operation, thwarting the Emperor of Darkness's plan and adding five new forces to the Power Rangers. Xiaoqing, in pursuit of her dreams, decides to leave to train for a gymnastics competition. Katherine, who was previously cursed by Queen of Darkness in an attempt to harm the Power Rangers, replaces Xiaoqing as the new Pink Ranger after the curse is broken. However, not long after, the Ultimate Dark Lord, the father of Queen of Darkness, activates magic to reverse time, causing the Power Rangers to return to their childhood and lose their Super Megaforce powers. To defend against the invasion, Zeus summons alien warriors from Water Star, marking the beginning of the special episodes for Season 3. As for the Power Rangers who have reverted to children, aside from Billy quickly recovering through the machine, the others set out to various places to search for fragments of the Cho-O-Jin Crystal, hoping to restore Earth to its original state by collecting them and activating their magic. When Isha searches for the crystal in Africa, she unexpectedly meets a distant relative and stays there, with her cousin Donna bringing the crystal back to the United States. However, when the crystal is gathered and Earth is restored, General Goldar and Rito break into the command center, stealing the crystal and destroying the place, marking the end of the Power Rangers' history and the beginning of "Space Rangers."
