Frederick Wiseman, who celebrated his 91st birthday on New Year's Day, presents us with a picture of America in his new 275-minute work, starting with Boston City Hall, focusing on the mayor, government operations, the details and challenges of democracy. This documentary, listed as the top "Best Film of 2020" by French film magazine *Cahiers du Cinéma*, was filmed in autumn 2018 and winter 2019. It feels like a time capsule, more like a political prophecy.
