Lu Molu Road, a bustling street in Wuhan City. An old telephone booth and a shabby fruit stall on the pedestrian walkway are the livelihood of Wang Tiancheng, a farmer from Henan province, and his family. Over the past fourteen years, they have been engaged in a constant back-and-forth with the urban management officers, becoming a true "stall king" and managing to put down roots in the city. Wang Tiancheng is a 70-year-old stroke patient, his wife is in the late stages of cancer, and his son is a disabled person without a right hand. Their only source of joy is their granddaughter Pingping, who is healthy, lively, and currently in junior high school. The dream of the whole family is to stay in the city and have Pingping become a Wuhan resident. Life is tough but simple. Until one day, Lu Molu Road is being transformed into a "Jewelry Street" according to the city's development plan, requiring the complete clearance of all street vendors. The conflict between Wang Tiancheng's family and the urban management team escalates, and a "survival defense battle" begins... Will the strict enforcement of the urban management officers crush the street vendors? Or will the "stall king" firmly hold his ground in the city center? The raw story of the life-and-death struggle between urban management officers and street vendors, the real process of conflict and interaction between officials and the public. Reflecting on the "city dream" of theThriving.growing Chinese people, you, me, and he could all be "Wang Tiancheng".
