Alps: The Giants of the Earth is a 2005 IMAX film that follows American climber John Harlin as he records his ascent of the north face of the Eiger. Forty years earlier, his father, John Harlin II, died in 1966 while climbing the vertical route of the Eiger's north face due to a rope breaking. Filming this movie was also a tribute to his father.
