They Shall Not Grow Old is a war documentary produced by Warner Bros. Pictures and directed by Academy Award-winning director Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Hobbit trilogy). The film focuses on the daily lives of soldiers during World War I (1914–1918). Most of the historical materials in the film are being made public for the first time. The production team applied the most advanced restoration, coloring, and 3D technologies to restore the century-old footage in full color and add sound effects. The film uses the oral histories of British veterans as narration to recreate the experiences and feelings of World War I soldiers, providing viewers with an immersive and highly realistic war experience. The film will be exclusively released nationwide on November 11, 2019, the 101st anniversary of the end of World War I.
