Video information

Ronnie Williams was born in 1953 in the town of Ada, Oklahoma. When his baseball career faltered and he had to return to his hometown, his life spiraled into a downward spiral. In 1982, a young girl was murdered, and this heinous case attracted significant attention in the local area. Without sufficient evidence, the prosecutor and police collaborated to convict Williams. He waited in fear in the death row for his fate, having lost everything but the support of his family and the unproven truth: he was innocent. A deeply poignant aspect of this real-life event is that Williams suffered from severe bipolar disorder, meaning he lacked a proper understanding of reality and was unable to make correct decisions to clear his name. However, even when he lost his sanity, he continued to shout his innocence day and night in prison. This film is adapted from John Grisham's work "The Innocent Man: Murder and Injustice in a Small American Town," recreating the beginning and end of this case.
