In this program, director Chen Xiaoying steps from behind the camera to in front of it, using his own perspective to seek out food and explore the stories behind it. In this program, Chen Xiaoying travels to eight different regions of China, and he completes his flavor exploration journey with different guides. Among the guides, there are both old friends and new acquaintances of Chen Xiaoying. They have diverse backgrounds and identities, including philosophers, archaeologists, anthropologists, musicians, professional chefs, economists, and writers. Chen Xiaoying brings more people together with food, and he believes that "fine food is not only delicious, but also a bonding agent that allows people to have more understanding and communication."
