In the documentary *Chinese Teachers Are Coming*, the production team invited five Chinese teachers to the UK to provide a month-long Chinese-style education to 50 British middle school students. In the documentary, apart from these 50 students, the rest were still taught by British teachers. After a month, both groups of students would take exams in mathematics and natural sciences to see which teaching method was more effective. The results would be revealed in the documentary. In the first 58-minute episode, the daily schedule of the British students was identical to that of a Chinese school, with Chinese teachers leading the British students in eye exercises, break exercises, and evening study sessions. The Chinese teachers made the British "troublemakers" cry, and the Chinese teachers themselves were also driven to tears by the students. As the experiment progressed, the students showed more resistance to the extended learning hours and strict discipline. The conflicts and adjustments between the Chinese teachers and the British students have kept the documentary's popularity soaring.
