Video information
"Air Crash Investigation" is a documentary program produced by Cineflix, a Canadian company. The program primarily covers major aviation accidents that occurred after the invention of the black box in the 1970s. In its third season, three episodes also included railway and maritime accidents. The program has different English titles depending on the channel it airs on: it is called "Mayday" on the Discovery Channel in Canada, "Air Emergency" in the United States, and "Air Crash Investigation" in the UK, France, and other countries. The program recreates the entire process of an aviation incident, from passengers boarding the plane and takeoff to the accident itself, its aftermath, and the subsequent investigation, using dramatized reenactments from various perspectives, such as passengers and pilots. Interviews with passengers, crew members (if any survived and agreed to be interviewed), accident investigators, and witnesses are also included in the program. The primary sources for the program are accident investigation reports and related news coverage. If the investigation report is not publicly available, the program consults with experts to piece together the full story. The program is meticulous in its recreation of aircraft exteriors, flight attendant uniforms, and airports, though it is not 100% accurate, occasionally featuring inconsistencies, such as depicting a Boeing 737 cockpit as an Airbus A320 cockpit. For dramatized scenes, actors who closely resemble the actual individuals involved are cast.
