From 2012 to 2020, the documentary *Real Growth* was filmed over eight years, following the lives of three main characters from their first year of high school to their graduation from university. Among the nearly 1,000 hours of story footage captured, there are authentic records of their thoughts on learning, society, parents, teacher-student relationships, and life choices. The completed documentary consists of five episodes, each lasting 35 minutes. It portrays the struggles, conflicts, and dramatic atmosphere, as well as the laughter, frustration, and every expression of the characters, all capturing the unrestrained essence of youth. The three protagonists, coming from different families and with distinct personalities—an atypical top student, an unconventional artistic girl, and a diligent, well-behaved girl with her own ideas—each gradually find their way through independent thinking and judgment, breaking free from the constraints of their original families, balancing ideals with reality, and discovering and realizing their own value. Youth is real, and growing up is more than just maturing.
