A hopeful nation cannot be without heroes. The documentary *Qi Jiguang* focuses on the anti-pirate experience of the war god Qi Jiguang in the southeastern coastal areas. Through the episodes *Lieutenant General*, *Pirate Troubles*, *New Soldiers*, *Iron Army*, and *War God*, it interprets the heroic story of over 400 years with a new creative mindset. Unlike the scene recreation in previous documentaries, *Qi Jiguang* adopts the technique of stop-motion animation, giving the image of the heroic Qi Jiguang, who gallops in our minds, a tangible energy in reality.
