In September 1949, before the founding ceremony of the People's Republic of China, the Soviet Union sent a film crew to China to help shoot color documentaries. They collaborated with Chinese photographers, traveling all over China to recreate the three major campaigns with unique Soviet film techniques, and also documented the local customs and folkways of various places in China at the time. This film selects five cities with the most distinctive characteristics from this batch of color footage, revisits the old sites, and interviews eyewitnesses. Using vivid color images and warm stories, it evokes memories from 70 years ago, allowing viewers to feel the vibrant vitality of the new China and gain inspiration and strength.
