Mount Emei is located within the city of Emeishan, Sichuan Province, China. The scenic area covers 154 square kilometers, with the highest peak, Wanshou Summit, reaching an altitude of 3,099 meters. The terrain is steep and the scenery is beautiful, earning it the reputation of being the most picturesque place under heaven. The climate is diverse, and the vegetation is rich, with over 3,000 species of plants, including rare tree species found worldwide. Along the mountain paths, there are many groups of monkeys that often form lines to beg for food from tourists, which is considered one of the unique features of Mount Emei. It is one of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China, with approximately 26 temples, of which eight are particularly important. Buddhist activities are frequent. On December 6, 1996, Mount Emei and Leshan Giant Buddha were listed as a dual cultural and natural heritage site by UNESCO. The scenic area of Mount Emei covers 154 square kilometers, including four major mountains: Dajiao, Erjiao, Sanjiao, and Sijiao. Dajiao Mountain is the main peak of Mount Emei, and when people refer to Mount Emei, they usually mean Dajiao Mountain. Dajiao and Erjiao mountains face each other, and from a distance, the two peaks appear like eyebrows, creating a majestic and steep appearance that inspired Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai to exclaim, "Mount Emei rises higher than the western sky, and among the many sacred mountains in Sichuan, Mount Emei is unparalleled." Mount Emei is famous for its fog, with clouds and mist enveloping it all year round, and light rain drizzling down. The clouds and mist in the mountains change endlessly, adorning Mount Emei with graceful beauty. Mount Emei is characterized by its layered peaks, majestic mountain ranges, beautiful scenery, and varied weather, earning it the description of "four seasons in one mountain, different skies every ten miles." Qing Dynasty poet Tan Zhongyue summarized the ten best views of Mount Emei: Golden Summit Auspicious Light, Elephant Pool Moonlit Night, Nine Elder Immortals' Mansion, Hongchun Morning Rain, White Water Autumn Wind, Double Bridges Clear Sound, Daping Clear Snow, Lingyan Stacked Greenery, Luofeng Clear Clouds, and Shengji Evening Bell. Nowadays, people have discovered and created many new landscapes, such as Red Pearl Embracing Green, Tiger Brook Listening to the Spring, Longjiang Stairway, Longmen Waterfall, Lei Dong Smoke Clouds, Jie Yin Flying Rainbow, Sleeping Clouds Floating Boats, Cold Pine Forest, etc. The new ten scenic spots of Mount Emei are: Golden Summit Buddha, Ten Thousand Buddhas Paying Homage, Little Ping's Affection, Qingyin Lake, Spiritual Monkeys in the Gorge, First Mountain Pavilion, Cliff Inscriptions, Most Beautiful Waterfall, Welcome Beach, and Starting Point of the Famous Mountain. All of these are captivating. Entering the mountain, one is greeted by layered peaks, ancient towering trees, winding paths, bridges connecting the clouds, deep valleys, a sliver of sky, waterfalls flowing in the valleys, the sound of flowing water, birds singing, butterflies fluttering, monkeys playing, frogs croaking, and flowers lining the paths, creating a magical world. In spring, all things are budding, lush and green; in summer, flowers bloom in competition, with colorful splendor; in autumn, red leaves cover the mountains, with a colorful array; in winter, the landscape is covered in white, with snow everywhere. Standing on the Golden Summit and looking out, the view is vast and the scenery is spectacular. Watching the sunrise, sea of clouds, Buddha light, and evening glow brings a sense of serenity and joy.To the west, one can see the snow-capped peaks of Mount Gongga and Mount Wawu stretching to the horizon. To the south, one can see the Ten Thousand Buddha Summit, with clouds rolling like waves, creating a magnificent scene. To the north, one can see a vast plain like a spread-out brocade, with the Dadu River and Qingyi River in full view. Standing on the peak of Mount Emei, one truly feels the sentiment of "all mountains appear small when viewed from the top."
