Video information

Directed by the creator of *Madness*, this five-part documentary offers a fresh perspective on stories from the vast world of sports. From tennis to boxing and basketball, even if you think you’ve heard these stories before, watching them will feel like a breath of fresh air. Updated weekly, each episode begins with a signature major event (big fights, Olympics, playoffs), then delves deeper into what happened beyond the headlines, as told by those who were there, revealing the courage, resilience, heartbreak, triumph, violence, comedy, and sorrow hidden beneath the sweat. Eyewitnesses to the infamous "Palm Arena Brawl" spill the beans; Olympic athlete Cathy Rigby reflects on her journey to winning gold; boxer Christie Martin fights for her life outside the ring; professional tennis player Mardy Fish recounts his struggle with mental health issues; and "Trashers" team, a group of misfit hockey players, follow a teenager who claims to be the son of a mob boss... *Sports Secrets* explores the core passion and focus required to become a champion, as well as the various ways victory is stripped away off the field. It’s said that this is a competition for the title of the world’s greatest athlete, with participants’ running, jumping, and throwing abilities put to the test in a two-day grueling event. After a failed attempt in 1972, Caitlyn Jenner set her sights on winning the decathlon gold medal at the 1976 Montreal Olympics. Four years of relentless training made her a leading contender. But for Jenner, the 1976 Olympic decathlon was more than just a physical test. It was an easily accepted distraction to help her escape from more challenging inner turmoil. After setting a new world record and winning gold in Montreal, Jenner’s image became the standard for athletic excellence, propelling her to instant super-stardom in America. However, the athletic achievements she craved and the celebrity persona she cultivated became major obstacles to her self-acceptance. Through a series of never-before-seen archival footage (including newly discovered Olympic recordings and family videos from the Jenner family), from winning gold to deciding to return to family and children, Jenner reflects on her life from a fresh perspective, with a clear understanding of both her past and present self.
