Five adorable cubs grow into formidable young male lions, becoming a force to be reckoned with. From birth, the youngest two cubs in the pride, Grootkop and Swartstert, have displayed the characteristics of a lion king. Before this group of young lions was forced to leave the pride, an extremely rare situation occurred: their mother took a risk and allowed an outsider, the strong male lion Makuu, to join the pride, possibly because Makuu is their half-brother. Later, Makuu led other young male lions to begin expanding their territory in the Sabi Sand Reserve. Within a few years, he killed other male lions, controlled many lionesses, and became the ruler of the entire Sabi Sand.
