Video information

#Young People# is a video series from VICE China, each episode showcasing a group of young people. From overlooked groups and regions to controversial groups and trending topics, we believe these young people are not just samples; they are shaping the present and future. Part One: Young Embalmers VICE China followed young Chinese embalmers and students in mortuary science who are about to become professional embalmers, discussing their aspirations for the profession and their work-life balance. We also followed those who have left the industry to see how they are living now. Part Two: Single Moms VICE China met three young single mothers, delving into their real lives and focusing on the joys, sorrows, and challenges faced by this marginalized group in society, as well as the resistance they encounter. Part Three: Mixed Martial Arts Youth We visited a bar in Chengdu, China, themed around mixed martial arts, and found two young martial arts practitioners. We spent a few days in Chengdu with them, observing their training and lifestyle, and even participated in a match, discussing how they started practicing martial arts and why they joined such bar-based competitions. Part Four: Internet Rappers VICE China joined internet rapper "Hendu Boy" and "BloodzBoi" on their first national tour. Afterwards, we returned to his hometown in Cangzhou, visiting places he used to frequent, meeting his father, and discussing his next music plans. Ultimately, he just wants to have a battle with fans of "Little Apple" from the "old guard." Part Five: Fixed-Gear Cycling A bicycle is a tool that can take you far, and a fixed-gear bike is a way for young people to express themselves. In Beijing, there is a group of young people hoping to awaken the city through "fixed-gear cycling." VICE China rode an electric bike to specially visit their stories. Part Six: Southern Xinjiang Parkour The Southern Xinjiang Kashgar region is roughly located in the far west of China, a place that sounds very remote. At the end of August, near the end of summer vacation, VICE China arrived in Kashgar, following Paherdan and his apprentice Zulipikar, experiencing the life of Kashgar parkour youth, and documenting their friendship and youth.Part Seven: Esports vs. Virtual Life VICE China met up with the TI6 world champion Wings team, well-known game commentator and host Teacher Danche, former world champion and current Newbee team coach SanSheng, and He Jinduo, a student majoring in esports at Xilinhaote Vocational College. They reveal what esports means to most players - it's definitely more than just a form of entertainment. Part Eight: Meeting the Subtitle Group VICE China visited a group of people in the online world who are often overlooked but play a crucial role in providing free services. For the members of the subtitle group, passion is the primary driving force. When this passion turns into an industry, opportunities and challenges come hand in hand.
